Aging patient population with chronic conditions gain access to approachable micro-movement experiences to improve health, increase confidence
HealthPrize recently released Guided Movements within our digital health solution that delivers micro-movement experiences for patients who can benefit from regular physical activity.
Patient members who are 65 years or older can especially benefit from Guided Movements, as exercise can help reduce, delay, and prevent some of the physical challenges associated with both chronic conditions and aging.
Research from HealthPrize found that this age group has some of the highest engagement levels and spends the longest increments of time on the HealthPrize platform. High engagement levels, paired with daily reminders about Guided Movements, can help to improve health literacy, increase medication adherence, and reduce overall cost of care.
HealthPrize is proven to be effective in driving engagement with older patients, and Guided Movements further enhances their experiences. Daily exercise is an essential component to better self-managing chronic conditions, and Guided Movements makes exercise both approachable and fun for patients looking to make a positive change in their health journey.
How Guided Movements Works
HealthPrize programs engage people taking medications for chronic conditions daily with educational content, health activities, and behavioral triggers that enable them to develop the habits and health literacy needed to more effectively self-manage their care. Programs now include Guided Movements, designed to teach patients small, daily exercises that can improve their health and increase their confidence.
Guided Movements prompts HealthPrize program members with short-duration guided movements that help with circulation, balance and muscle strength maintenance. Each time a patient completes a guided movement, they track it within their profile to gain points. They accumulate points over time and can redeem points for profile boosters, such as avatar images, fun facts, or inspirational quotes, gift cards associated with social determinants of health, or charity donations.
HealthPrize is dedicated to designing digital health interventions that support our aging population. Guided Movements is designed to introduce new, achievable exercises that can easily become a part of their everyday lives, ultimately helping them better manage their health journeys and create more positive patient experiences.
