New features provide greater variety to improve patient experience and support behavior change for better outcomes
NORWALK, CONN. – APRIL 12, 2022 – HealthPrize, a digital health pioneer in the use of behavioral economics, education and gamification to inspire health behavior change, today announced enhancements to its patient engagement and education platform with a variety of gamified features, including avatars, trivia fun facts, and motivational quotes. The new features help to inspire and motivate participants in HealthPrize programs to better self-manage their care, which can result in greater health literacy, improved medication adherence, and reduced cost of care.
HealthPrize programs engage people taking medications for chronic conditions every day with educational content, health activities, and behavioral triggers that enable them to develop the habits and health literacy needed to more effectively manage their chronic care. Health messaging delivered through brief educational tips, short quizzes, and targeted content are framed within a gamified health experience proven to motivate patients to engage on average six days a week.

New feature options in HealthPrize programs include:
- Avatars: Profile images can be displayed on the leaderboard to showcase a patient’s personality to others within the HealthPrize community.
- Trivia Fun Facts: Packages of trivia, including fun facts from categories such as arts, sciences, sports, and history, allow patients to learn about the subjects that interest them most.
- Motivational Quotes: Patients can read motivational, inspiring quotes upon logging into the program that build self-esteem and encourage continued work toward building healthy habits.
HealthPrize continues to expand its platform, with additional features added to its product roadmap such as a one-time streak repair that can be used if a patient forgets to log in to their program, healthy recipes and diet tips, short stories or podcasts that cover non-health-related topics, and other games or challenges to inspire and motivate program members.
